IQ ORDER · Small Wi-Fi restaurant pickup displays

A clear pickup number, right where the order waits.

Prepare fixed pickup places such as Pickup 1 or Bar. When staff finish an order, they assign a place and the display shows its public order number. Keep public display data separate from private collection credentials.

    2026-11-01 · Scope and readiness

    How it works

The preferred hardware preparation targets the Waveshare ESP32-S3 4.3-inch display. Plan an automatic start, venue Wi-Fi setup and the approved IQ Order identity without buying hardware during the pilot.

Prepare protected Wi-Fi credential storage and a verified firmware-update path. Use a device-specific registration and revocation workflow rather than sharing an administrator password across screens.

    A practical example

Pickup 2 shows A-024 while the food is waiting. After staff confirm collection, the slot clears and can display the next order.

    Scope and readiness

Browser display behavior can be tested now; the physical device, secure storage, update rollback and network recovery still need hardware validation. No certified ready-to-ship appliance is claimed.

IQ Order is in pilot development. Test payments do not move money. Live payment, tax and POS connections, mail services and physical devices need their own provider access and acceptance. Public marketing pages do not grant access to administration.

    Before your first guest

    • Assign two test orders to different free pickup points.
    • Show only the public number and test an incorrect private handover code.
    • Confirm collection and check that the number clears and the point becomes available again.

From the first menu to a connected visit

    1. Select your menus, service areas, ordering channels and staff roles.
    2. Run a complete visit using fictional guests and clearly labeled test payments.
    3. Validate the selected country, providers and physical devices before production.

What should I know about Small Wi-Fi restaurant pickup displays?

Prepare fixed pickup places such as Pickup 1 or Bar. When staff finish an order, they assign a place and the display shows its public order number. Keep public display data separate from private collection credentials.

What is the scope and what still needs validation?

Browser display behavior can be tested now; the physical device, secure storage, update rollback and network recovery still need hardware validation. No certified ready-to-ship appliance is claimed.

Which number belongs on the pickup display, and how is handover checked?

The public order number directs the guest to the assigned pickup point. The private handover code stays with the guest and must not appear on a public display. In the server test service, the team assigns a free point when marking an order ready; only confirmed collection releases it. The browser display can be tested with several phones. The small Wi-Fi device also needs separate hardware and network acceptance.
