IQ ORDER · Waiter calls and kitchen coordination

The right task reaches the right team.

Guests can request service from the ordering page. Route calls by area and let the first eligible staff member claim a task, so colleagues can see that someone is handling it. Keep open, unpaid and reserved tables visible.

    2026-10-31 · Scope and readiness

    How it works

Use kitchen screens for incoming orders, preparation and ready status. Stations, course release, timers and slot capacity help separate starters, mains, desserts and bar work.

Prepare Apple Watch and Wear OS notifications for ready orders and powerbank delivery tasks. Browser team views remain part of the workflow; a watch application, device registration and the corresponding push service are needed for wrist notifications.

    A practical example

A server releases the main course after clearing starters. When the kitchen marks it ready, a task can go to the responsible service area.

    Scope and readiness

Physical watches, operating-system behavior, repeat vibrations and printer connections need device testing. Guest-visible preparation status is optional and controlled by the restaurant.

IQ Order is in pilot development. Test payments do not move money. Live payment, tax and POS connections, mail services and physical devices need their own provider access and acceptance. Public marketing pages do not grant access to administration.

    Before your first guest

    • Let two assigned staff members handle the same call.
    • Check a kitchen update with guest visibility switched off.
    • Test background alerts separately on the devices actually used.

From the first menu to a connected visit

    1. Select your menus, service areas, ordering channels and staff roles.
    2. Run a complete visit using fictional guests and clearly labeled test payments.
    3. Validate the selected country, providers and physical devices before production.

    Questions before your pilot

What should I know about Waiter calls and kitchen coordination?

Guests can request service from the ordering page. Route calls by area and let the first eligible staff member claim a task, so colleagues can see that someone is handling it. Keep open, unpaid and reserved tables visible.

What is the scope and what still needs validation?

Physical watches, operating-system behavior, repeat vibrations and printer connections need device testing. Guest-visible preparation status is optional and controlled by the restaurant.

Do guests need the same app for a waiter call and a pickup alert?

Waiter calls and live pickup status are intended for the guest browser. A locked-phone alert needs explicit push registration. On iPhone, web push currently requires the web app to be added to the Home Screen. The watch app uses separate staff access; it is not required for a guest order.

IQ ORDER FOR YOUR SERVICE TEAM

Your next task. Right on your wrist.

The Wear OS app with the current IQ Order logo has been submitted for public review on Google Play. It shows ready orders and powerbank tasks from personally assigned areas. The team can see who claims a task first.

Wear OS: submitted for public Google Play review · no public store download yet. The internal pilot remains available by invitation. Permanent Android background push and tests on physical watches require separate acceptance before live use.

Apple Watch: submitted for App Store review · no public download yet. The free app is set to publish automatically after Apple approves it.

    Toni explains team waiter calls.

One guest calls and one team member takes responsibility. Toni shows how a service group sees who is handling the request and how the planned watch workflow would extend it.

    English · about 22 seconds

Animated concept film: group claiming is implemented in the team pilot. Direct waiter calls are not connected to Apple Watch or Wear OS yet; the current watch apps handle ready orders and powerbank tasks. Physical-device and background tests remain separate.
